Favorite Hill Country Excursions
We are so lucky to live in a place that has so much going on all the time. Austin epitomizes the phrase “never a dull moment.” However, there are occasions when you want to leave Austin if only for a day – perhaps you have family or friends in town and you want to tour the Texas hill country or you just want to get away with your sweetie. This Hill Country guide is just what you need! It’s filled with many options – things like this come in handy around our house when no one can think of what to do or where to go. Just pull out the guide and get in your car…you can decide on the way.
I wish for all of you to have a safe, fun, and memorable summer.

We’ve learned that you don’t have to leave Austin to enjoy the Hill Country! Austin’s home to some great family hiking spots…there’s a fabulous trail near the entrance to Emma Long Park on City Park Road and St. Edward’s Park off of Spicewood Springs.
Outside of Austin, our family has loved exploring Pedernales Falls State Park! The rock formations near the falls are amazing! Wading in the river lined with Cypress trees is a dream. Don’t forget to stop at the Blanco Bowling Alley for the best burgers & onion rings (& Catfish!) for some tried & true Texas vittles
