The Rosedale neighborhood is located in the northern part of Central Austin. The neighborhood borders on 38th Street to the south, Shoal Creek to the west, North Loop/ Hancock Drive to the north, and Lamar Boulevard to the east. The majority of the homes were built in the 1930s and 1940s making them considerably small for today’s families. There has been a movement of late, as families are discovering the convenience of central Austin, to add on to the original structures in an effort to increase living space and bring the homes up to modern standards. It seems as though most people are going to great lengths to maintain the original character of the homes and neighborhood. Rosedale is located within a stone’s throw of Seton Hospital, Central Market, and Mopac Expressway. It is also close to the Burnet Road corridor which is home to many local eateries and shops. Ramsey Park is located in the heart of the neighborhood and there is a very nice city pool and playscape and lots of room for picnicking and playing frisbee with your dog. This is a great neighborhood for walking, riding bikes, knowing your neighbors.
