Austin Diner on Burnet Road

I wanted to let you know about a great diner I tried the other day on Burnet Road called the Austin Diner.  The food was yummy and the restaurant had a real “Austin” feel to it, similar to the way restaurants felt back in the sixties or seventies without feeling too pretentious.  There was a nostalgic assortment of old metal electric coffee percolators, 45 and 78 records, diner-like tables and chairs, and even a few old stoves placed on the porch. It was inviting and not too loud.  The menu is varied which gives everyone a chance at ordering something they are in the mood for.  I had the sour cream enchiladas which were very well prepared with a side of delicious black beans and rice.  They also have a great breakfast menu, assorted sandwiches, burgers, and a decent kids menu.  Prices were reasonable, service was good.  The next time you are in the Burnet Road and Lawnmont area, check it out.  Here is a link to their website: http://austindineronline.com/home.html

Enjoy!
